Description and Purpose
Changes to the Pick and Issue (PI) will allow much more flexibility in how it is created.
In the past, a PI was created from doing a copy forward directly from an SRQ. This allowed a one on one relationship between SRQ and PI. Though this method is still available, you can now select multiple SRQs from Issue Queue (ISSQ) or create a PI from scratch and then you have multiple different ways to select SRQs.
This guide will show how to efficiently do each New option.
Process/Instructions
Creating a Pick and issue through ISSQ. Issue Queue – ISSQ The Issue queue will allow the user to see all the SRQs and TRQs associated with an individual warehouse. There are many fields to narrow your search.
At a minimum you would want to enter the warehouse, but you can filter it by deliver date, vendor, request code (SRQ, TRQ), etc.
If you enter the warehouse code and search, the results will appear in the grid below.
Like most tables, there are additional fields listed in the grid, that you can see if you expand the line.
On the line you can see among other things, the Request ID, the number of lines inside the transaction, the PI and CI ID information if created. To create the Pick and Issue (PI):
- Select one or more requestor line by checking the box on the left side.
- From the Grid Actions drop down, select Create Pick and Issue
FINET will then create the PI transaction with all the information from the SRQ or TRQs
3. Complete the transaction creation by adding the Department and transaction ID as you have in the past
4. Click Continue in the upper right corner.
Notice that there are now SRQs on the Select SRQ Parameter tab, but there are NO SRQ Lines.
To bring the lines over you must load the Pick Plans. But first, for this release, you must delete the Request Information found in the Pick Options section of the Header Tab IF you have multiple SRQs selected.
Delete the three fields shown in yellow. In future releases it should not auto fill the header, but if you fail to delete them now, it will give errors when loading Pick plans.
5. Enter the Pick Date on the Header
6. Click on the 3-dot menu on the right.
7. Select Load Pick Plans
FINET then loads all the active lines on the SRQs and they will show on the PICK SRQ Lines.
While it brings over all the lines, you can select and delete those lines that you do not want in your pick by selecting the non desired lines and then clicking the trashcan.
8. Once you have adjusted to PI to meet your needs, validate the transaction.
You will now see the CI transaction
9. Use the line to navigate to the CI transaction, as it is created in draft.
10. Submit the CI when ready.
Creating a Pick and Issue from Scratch
One may wonder why they would create a Pick and Issue from scratch when they can do it through ISSQ. The answer to that is it will allow a lot of versatility in how you can add SRQs to a transaction. The versatility comes in the Pick Options section of the header.
Notice that there is a show more option at the bottom for even more helpful fields.
When entering a selection option you must first enter the warehouse. Then there is a Selection Options drop down that has a number of useful options.
The options include:
- Specific Stock Requisitions - You enter the request Code, Department ID and line number.
- Specific Delivery date - Enter the date to see all SRQs with that delivery date.
- Specific Stock Item – Useful if you have the same stock item on multiple SRQs.
- SRQ range – allows you to add all SRQs within a specific range of transaction numbers.
Enter the appropriate fields and then select Load Pick Plan from the 3-dot menu. If you change your mind and want to do another Selection Option you can easily select another and add in the criteria to the appropriate fields. Then, simply Load Pick Plan again and the new data will come in. When finished, simply complete the PI as normal and then the CI when ready.
